Digital Producer / NorthJersey.com, The Bergen Record
Helped launch the Gannett version of NorthJersey.com, including being part of the training of the digital team in the production process. Curated content making it web-ready (editing, adding photos, videos, links and SEO). Developed plans to increase loyalty, engagement and return visits using food content, in-person classes and reader editorial board. Managed sponsored content and production/posting of content for reader loyalty program, called Insider.
Consumer Experience Director / Poughkeepsie Journal
As an operating committee member, I helped strategize and implement the Journal’s digital future. I held key roles in several Gannett-wide pilot programs involving new content management systems, workflows and website/app designs at our location. I served as a consultant, mentor and trainer for other newsrooms. I oversaw production of digital and print products including daily newspaper, monthly magazine, special sections, PoughkeepsieJournal.com, FoodieHV app and branded social media accounts. Responsible for training digital production team in SEO for headlines and content. Responsible for product launches, QA on new apps and sites and providing feedback to developers on user interface and functionality. Worked with advertising, marketing and circulation to drive revenue across all departments. Monitored and analyzed online and social metrics to devise strategies to increase engagement and audience relevance. Managed about 120 client websites we hosted and handled client outreach/engagement. Prior to this role I was digital editor and prior to that, business editor (I was hired in 2005).
Assistant City Editor / Tucson Citizen
I oversaw content creation and editing of the business, environment and health beats. As Business Editor, I created the first standalone business section in the history of the paper, focusing on news for consumers and small businesses. I also reported on Raytheon, IBM, Texas Instruments and other businesses. During my tenure at the Citizen I was also a night city editor and city editor. I managed up to 20 people.

Responsible for a variety of website, app and video player tests both scripted and exploratory. Report on defects, user interface improvements, ad delivery, closed-caption accuracy and more.

New York-New England District – Optimist International. 1997 – Present. Volunteer with service organization to help children become the best they can be. I serve as Internet Safety Chairman, promoting, teaching and conducting internet safety training for children, adults and club members. I’ve held various leadership roles throughout my tenure.
I.M. Gold Entertainment/Golden Wizards Entertainment. From 1991- 2005 I started and ran a karaoke/DJ company in Southern California and Arizona. Booked, promoted and marketed services and events.
